MAKHACHKALA, October 12 – RIA "Dagestan". According to the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI), Dagestan, Ingushetia and Chechnya have emerged as the leaders among Russian regions with the lowest volumes of atmospheric pollutant emissions.
The study specifically analyzed emissions resulting from fuel combustion for electricity and heat generation across federal subjects, identifying these three North Caucasian republics as having minimal impact in this sector.
Additionally, ASI experts assessed air purification levels to evaluate overall air quality; however, the leading performers in this specific metric were not the emission-lowest regions but rather Penza, Ryazan and Ulyanovsk Oblasts, which demonstrated superior natural or technological air cleansing capabilities.
